7 Things I Would Have Told My 20-Year-Old Self

By |March 1st, 2016|Home, Lifestyles|

This post was inspired by a few young ladies I met backpacking through SE Asia at the end of last year. These young women were amazing! Most were in their early 20s and others about to turn 20. You know who you are. This is also for any young lady in her 20s or about to turn 20 years old and is having some internal conflict. I am officially 27 years old and I've looked back on my small accomplishment and I can't help but smile. It's been one HELL of a year. I'd also like to say that I would have never imagined [...]

The Tales Of A Solo Single Female Traveler

By |February 12th, 2016|Home, Lifestyles|

Oh Valentine's Day!... With it only a few days away how could I not share some insights to traveling solo and while being single. Being single and traveling is pretty awesome! Although, not gonna lie, it would be nice to share my experiences and memories with someone I love... I'm a 26-year-old (soon to be 27 in 15 days) American/ Cuban. And if you looked at my resume (CV) I certainly pass on paper! I've been single for a while now. To be fair, I haven't really lived in a city long enough to get to know someone to be in a relationship. And [...]

The Realistic or Unrealistic Dream: The Slums of India- Do You Give A Sh*t?

By |February 11th, 2016|Asia, Home, Travel Posts|

After spending 16 days on a tour with Hands On Journeys in India and volunteering in the slums of Delhi and Jaipur, I've come to the conclusion that some people just don't give a shit. As I am writing this post I’m rather angry, but let me explain. I've seen slums and poverty before. To be completely honest (and I did question myself about this), I did feel bad, but I didn't feel that bad. You see, the women and children I met in the slums don't know any better. They are born and raised to do one thing and one thing only. [...]

Solo Travel? Yeah. I F**k** Up. I Should Have Started in SE Asia!

By |January 25th, 2016|Asia, Home, Lifestyles, Travel Posts|

When I left for SouthEast Asia (SE Asia) about 4  months ago, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. I was ABSOLUTELY SCARED SHITLESS! I had never been to Asia let alone SE Asia before and the thought of doing it solo was scary. But I've realized there is a difference between traveling in Asia and traveling in Europe solo. I felt safer in SE Asia than I did in Europe. - Honestly. I felt as though the backpacker scene was more welcoming in SE Asia than in Europe. Another thing that I loved about traveling solo in SE Asia. Were [...]

Reasons Why You Should Travel Solo (Even If The Truth Isn’t Pretty!)

By |January 18th, 2016|Australia, Home, Lifestyles, Travel Posts|

First time I ever went abroad I traveled to Europe. Being that I am from the east coast (USA) heading to Europe is much more feasible than heading to Asia. Where as if you live in Australia it's just way cheaper and easier to get to SE Asia than it would be from someone who was from New York. 11 months ago I quit my full-time job, bought a one way to Europe and started backpacking. I backpacked throughout Europe for about 5 months. I had already been to most of the countries I was visiting. I stayed with friends, in hostels, or couch surfed. [...]
